Objectives
Upon successful completion of the assignment, each student will
be able to:
- Develop items for a survey questionnaire.
- Plan, design, and implement a small survey.
- Plan, design, and implement an analysis of survey results.
- Report survey results
For the first two weeks of the assignment
- Review prior surveys, and participate in class discussion
of survey research and survey methods.
- Develop objectives, new items, and modify items for the CS6023
class survey.
- Review prior survey reports and prepare and plan for your
report. Begin developing your report of survey results.
For the second two weeks of the assignment
- Read the materials on surveys in preparation for writing
your survey report.
- Participate in the CS6023 Initial Class Survey.
- Obtain a copy of the data from the CS6023 Initial Class Survey,
as you will require these data for your report.
- Participate in the class discussion on survey methods, descriptive
data analysis, and reporting.
For the third two weeks of the assignment
- Analyze the survey data collected in class and complete writing
your survey report.
- Participate in the class discussion and interpretation of
the CS6023 Initial Class Survey.
- Hand in your report on or before the due date.
Note: that any report from this assignment (Class
Interest Survey Report) receiving a grade of B+ or lower may be
re-written once, for potential grade improvement. Normally, the
highest grade achievable on a re-write is an A-. Note further
that the 2nd homework assignment is the only opportunity for re-write
to improve one's grade.
